Trip to Rochester

Went to Rochester today. I wanted to get my damaged copy of Metropolismania 2 replaced, and Mike wanted to get Berserk #21.

Unfortunately, Toys R Us did not have any more copies of MM2 but were willing to refund my money. I looked around some more to see if there was anything else I might pick up, but came up dry.

Next stop was Jimmy Jams for Mike. He got his manga and I picked up a compilation of old "The Savage Sword of Conan" comics and a couple classic copies of "Magnus, Robot Fighter 4000 AD", including one of the issues I remember reading as a kid from my Uncles collection. What fun :)

From there we went to Best Buy looking for a new multi-player game for either the PC or one of the consoles. I ended up choosing a combat flight sim (which meant I needed to pick up a flight stick). Mike decided to pick up a FIFA (soccer) game - but wanted to pick it up from one of the Game Stop stores.

At the Game Stop I checked to see if they had a copy of Metropolismania 2 in stock, but they didn't find one there or in a search of Game Stops within 60 miles. :( I did pick up a copy of Turok Evolution for the PS2, since I'm on a bit of a Turok kick. Unfortunately, the game is based on the Acclaim comics so I don't know how good it's going to be. Mike bought FIFA and then we stopped at PetCo so I could buy some cat food for Cricket.

We finished the trip off at Fizoli's for dinner. I do like their spaghetti.

We got back to Austin before 5:30 and started things by installing the flight combat sim. I turned out to be a little to much sim for Mikes taste and after an hour or so of trying to figure things out we gave up and moved on to FIFA.

We got creamed! By the end we finally did score a goal, but lost 1 to 4. We'll have to do some more practice.

That was pretty much it for the day. Next weekend I'll probably head to the cities to visit Jim.
